Hi everyone,

I have an X50 in the living room (master) connected to an X50 in the office by wirelessly.

When the X50 in the office is connected to my PC via ethernet cable I get speeds of 250mb/s (which is the max speed on my broadband plan).

But when it's connected to my PC via Ethernet backhaul (ethernet directly from the master X50) I'm getting 90mb/s.

I was under the impression that backhaul was a lot faster because of the direct connection by cable.

Is this actually the case or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

If you are saying that when PC is connected by Ethernet cable to Main Deco it only gets 90Mbps, it could mean PC negotiated 100Mbps speed on its wired link, instead of gigabit. You can check that on PC, see How to check the associated/link speed on a wired client

That, lower speed on wired connection, usually points at issue with Ethernet cable.

@Alexandre. Right, my understanding is that this would be the order from fastest connection to slowest connection possible to a deco unit (not master):

  1. Ethernet backhaul from deco unit to master + ethernet from computer to deco unit
  2. Ethernet backhaul from deco unit to master + wifi connection from computer to deco unit
  3. Wifi connection to deco unit + ethernet from computer to deco unit
  4. Wifi connection to deco unit + wifi connection from computer to deco unit

Is this a correct assumption?

For Deco X50 this is correct assumption.
