Hi, I am wondering if I am able to access my router's USB storage feature through a phone or tablet. Is this possible? Thank you for any help in advance.

How do you set up your router? With what application you want to use on the tablet?

My router is set up normally, I can connect properly with my tablet. But I would like to stream videos or view pictures from a USB stick to my tablet via the router. Is that possible?

It's possible with a SMB access but not with DLNA (media server) because TP-Link uses the same crappy code on all the models...

I've done it via DLNA on TP-Link router firmware (and ASUS N16 router using EasyTomato firmware). Had videos taken with Ipod Touch and transferred it to USB drive. I put it in the TP-Link USB. I used Skifta app (iOS and Android) and was able to view the videos on my iPod Touch and Android tablet. I think all I had to do with the videos from the iPod was rename the file extension to something like {filename}.avi or was it .mov (I think the ios default was .mp4) and the DLNA server or app was able to see the files.
