Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 20210719 rel.12163(5553)

Hello. I have never updated the firmware for my Archer AX6000 router since I purchased it from Amazon in May of 2021. It is Hardware Version v1 and Firmware Version 1.2.4 Build 20210719 rel.12163(5553). So I just went to the downloads section on this website, chose version 1, and then the page showed me a download called Archer AX6000(EU)_V1_1.3.2 Build 20230906.

 

Does that EU mean that the update is only for Europe?

 

On the page it has this warning:

 

Please upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device, otherwise it will be against the warranty.

 

Well, as I said, I purchased the router on Amazon, so there really is no "local TP-Link official website", is there?

 

So, can I safely install the file that I downloaded, or will it harm my router?

 

Or do I need to download the US version of the file somewhere? If so, what is the URL for it?  I live on the island of Guam, which is a US territory in the Western Pacific.

  @Sunshine , thanks for the response. Actually, I already did this yesterday. My router is in fact the US model, as I assumed it was. However, as I explained in my previous comment, no matter what TP-Link web page I went to, all of the firmware updates had (EU) appended to them. So I wrote to TP-Link and explained my dilemma to them. They emailed the proper link, and I successfully updated my router. While the page they sent me to does include (US) in the file name on the page, the downloaded file does not include it. Nevertheless, as I said, the update went just fine. For anyone else who may be interested in the (US) update for the Archer AX6000 V1 router, here is the link they emailed me:

If your AX6000 is with a EU region you have to use a FW release for the EU region. It won't let you use a FW release for another region.

EU means for Europe and it's connected with CE certifications.

You can use your device in the US region as well, just some of the wireless channels won't be available if you're with EU FW release.

You router FW region can be determined by the device bottom sticker.

Okay, as I said, I purchased the router on Amazon, I assume their US store. I live on Guam, which is a US territory. Is there a way to find out which region I am with?

  @terziyski Okay, both of those links are for EU firmware updates. So I clicked on the link to change regions, and switched to the US region. However, when I went to the firmware page, and set it to V1, it is the same EU firmware downloads as on the other page. In fact, even the V2 firmware updates are EU as well. So I am a little confused regarding what to do.

As @terziyski mentioned, please check the region version on the bottom sticker of the router first to confirm if it is EU or US version.

If it is US version, please click the second link provided by @terziyski where US version is available:
