Switch Issues - Faulty?

Model: TL-SG1016D
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have the above switch on a fairly simple home network.

I have a gigabit fibre connection, through network cable in our walls to our router, which then goes to the switch, then finally the switch fires all the data off to the network ports in our house via the patch panel.

The issue I have is that once or sometimes twice per day, all wired devices on our network are losing network connection. The way to resolve this is to power cycle the switch, which brings back the connection quickly. All wifi devices on our network remain perfectly fine. There have been no new devices added onto our network that weren't always there.

The question I have is, with this being an unmanaged switch, is there anything that can be done to test our troubleshoot it, or is just a case of replacing it? Thanks.

Hi @lvmarv

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Any more information you can provide?

Like do you monitor the IP address and ping to the gateway from the switch?

What does the interface LED look like? On or off?

I think you should contact the support to illustrate more details. Hard to judge what's wrong now.

What can I do if the Ethernet LED indicators on the Unmanaged Switch are off?

What can I do if my PC is not working when it’s connected to the Unmanaged Switch by cable?
