Packet loss and no real solution...

I am with a company called octaplus, they sent out a router ex230v and for the first week it was fine, since then nothing but packet loss anywhere from 1 to 30%.

I tried changing ethernet cables, tried different routers, different devices, no change at all.

I even went around the outside following the fibre cable and checked everything was connected.

So, I do a tracert to bing and after it goes fine, I do another longer test and I get a request timed out.

So one by one I start a thousand pings to each IP on my tracert list. Second IP starts timing out every 10 or so pings.

This to me seems like the issue, what is the second ping? If the first is my router is that my providers first server/hop?

I tried a number of things including a VPN and nothing changes I'm hoping an expert here can figure out what the problem is and how it can be fixed. Any help really appreciated!

  @3bmw It's their network not something on your end that is the problem. (I have the same problem) They did some upgrades to their network around a week ago and its been causing major issues for many people ever since. I've seen people saying changing the mtu to 1452 fixes it but it didn't for me. Kind of stuck until they fix it properly.

  @3bmw did you ever get a solution for this? I recently acquired Octaplus and they sent the same router, I find my work laptops can't connect to the network and any gaming I try has a strict NAT type.

when I go into router settings, there's no option for port forwarding or firewall controls etc.

  @Ashley_bond94

Today has been the last straw with octaplus I am so fed up, I asked for a reference number for a formal complaint so I can start the process of being able to leave. If your within termination limits do it this company is useless in every way.

  @3bmw yeah only had it a week so will be cancelling it today. I read they use a CGNAT network instead of NAT, meaning all their customers are put through the same IP addresses, which is why there's so much packet loss cause of traffic
