Firmware Version:

5Ghz speed to low

I use  the 5Ghz band. Computer just a few meters from router. Full signal. Connected to 1000Mb fiber. Only gets a wifi speed of max  500Mb/s. According to technical data, the router should handle 1300 Mb/s on the 5Ghz band.

Connected to router with cable gives more than 900Mb/s

Connected directly to house fiber  input gives close to 1000 Mb/s

Computer Apple Mac Studio m2 max. Same result with other connected equipment.

With that link speed, under excellent radio (signal/noise) conditions you should expect to see up to 600Mbps on 5GHz. Which is very close to what you are getting.

Deco S7 is WiFi5. To get WiFi speeds close to gigabit, you should use WiFi mesh which is at least WiFi6, such as Deco X55. If your computer supports WiFi6E, invest in WiFi6E capable WiFi mesh such as Deco XE75.

If you'd rather try different brand, same recommendation applies: WiFi5 for 500-600Mbps, WiFi6 and WiFi6E for gigabit speeds and faster.

Extra caveat: if you plan to upgrade fiber link to faster than gigabit, your WiFi mesh equipment should have faster than gigabit Ethernet ports, otherwise WiFi mesh connection to ISP modem/router on gigabit Ethernet port will become your new bottleneck.

Start with checking what is the miaximum link speed reported by your computer. See How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

The speed of WiFi connection will never be faster than maximum speed link.
