Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.6.2 Build 20230906 Rel. 78043

Hi guys,

Need your help to understand something with my connections at home.

My archicture is like the following (all connections made using ethernet Cat6 cables);

1. Fiber Signal (1GB) -> Main Router -> Deco M9 Plus -> TpLink Hub -> House Hub

2. Living Room (from House Hub) -> TpLink Hub -> Apple TV (and other equipments)

With the architecure above, executing Speedtest app in AppleTV the download speed is something around 480Mg... strange for because is everything is connect using Cat6 ethernet cables...

To test if the problem was the signal from the supplier, I changed my home connection avoiding the Deco, basically:

1. Fiber Signal (1GB) -> Main Router -> House Hub

2. Living Room (from House Hub) -> TpLink Hub -> Apple TV (and other equipments)

Executing Speedtest app in AppleTV without Deco M9 Plus the download speed is something around 920Mg

is there any limitation in Deco M5?

Thanks in advance

Luis

  @LuisVS solved!

Solution was on the Deco app on QoS adjustments option... Bandwith was limited to 500Mg download and 120Mb upload.

I've changed to 1000Mg / 500Mg and now I've closer results to the signal from the supplier... 930Mb download and 430 upload

  @LuisVS

Because you have router (Main Router), you can configure Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode: Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode

This will eliminate all Deco mesh bandwidth throttling.

Also, with Deco mesh running in Access Point mode, you will not need to pass wired traffic through Main Deco. You can have the following:

1. Fiber Signal (1GB) -> Main Router -> House Hub

2. Living Room (from House Hub) -> TpLink Hub -> Apple TV (and other equipments)

and connect Main Deco as a wired client to either Main Router or one of hubs free Ethernet port.
