Model: Archer C50
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version:

Hi community,

I recently purchased an Archer C50 for which WiFi speed seems limited by the device.

Indeed, If I connect my PC directly to the RJ45 cable instead of the router, I can get ~200 Mbps (expected speed based on my Internet subsciption).

Howerver, when the device is connected to this cable, WiFi speed is limited to ~100 Mbps (for both 2.4 & 5 GHz).

I don't see any related seting in the device settings (both on app & web browser).

Since 867 Mbps (for 5 GHz) and 300 Mbps (for 2.4 GHz) are the limits of the device, it should be possible to reach 200 Mbps for both...

Could you tell me how to get max speed through WiFi please?

Thanks

Archer C50 WAN/LAN ports are only 10/100 mbps capable.

If your ISP offers 200 mbps you'll need a gigabit router to utilize this bandwidth.

Thx for quick answer.  This is understood.

But I wonder why higher WiFi speed is claimed on the box then???  Non sense... :-(

If it was more clear, I would have selected an other device on the shop shelf...

At first look this may doesn't make sense, but it actually does when two or more wireless devices communicate among them sleves.

If your retailer can replace the device for a gibait router will be great.
