Firmware Version: 1.3.8

Can I connect Archer AX20 to my VirginMedia router wirelessly, and essentially use it as a booster for my PC as it needs a wired connection.

No, AX20 doesn't support RE mode or WDS feature - you can use its AP mode only but involves cabling.
