Model: Deco E4
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I've recently purchased a Deco E4 set and am disappointed that the WAN port is limited to 100Mbps, effectively slowing down my whole wireless network to half of what my isp provides. This wasn't clear in the online spec that the WAN port is limited.

To resolve I'm guessing I can use a different Deco device for a hub router. Are they all compatible with the E4 satellite units? I'd like a hub with Gbps ports and ideally 5 of them, any recommendations? Once I make this change will I be able to use my old E4 router as an additional satellite device? Thanks

I would recommend to buy Deco M4, M5 or M9 Plus for Main Deco. You can, then, use your current Main Deco E4 as Satellite Deco. This is how you switch Main Deco in your Deco mesh: How to Set up the Satellite Deco or a new Deco to be the Main Deco

It would be hard to find Deco model with 5 Ethernet ports, but you can connect regular gigabit switch to the second Ethernet port of Main Deco and this will expand number of ports to how many you need.

  @Alexandre.

Thank you for the advice. I'll look into replacing the main unit for one of the 'M' designated units. It's easy enough to use a gigabit switch too so will do that.

Thanks again!
