All software and hardware are up to date as of today.

I have migrated the SDN controller and devices from:

Omada Software Controller (Windows) v5.13.30.8

to

OC200 hardware v2.6 (2.14.4 Build 20240304 Rel.54311) Controller firmware v5.13.30.20

and

Gateway device is ER8411 firmware v1.2.1 Build 20240308 Rel.75819

 

In the Software Controller navigate to Device List > ER8411 > Settings > Network Security > Application Control > Deep Packet Inspection, etc.

The software controller integrates correctly with the ER8411 for DPI

 

The OC200 Controller does not have any Application Control > DPI at all.

In the OC200, navigate to Device List > ER8411 > Settings > Network Security.

Application Control is just not in the OC200 UI.

See the two screenshots.

 

Question is, how to control DPI settings for the ER8411 with OC200?

The DPI(Deep Packet Inspection) on Application Control feature has not been added into the hardware controller yet. You may wait for the controller 5.14 version on hardware update. But please note that the estimated date and whether this feature will be updated cannot be guaranteed, as the actual implementation depends on the firmware update status at that time.

 

Please keep an eye on the future firmware upgrade or pay attention to the forum released.

Thanks for clarifying.

For my company, DPI and DPI throughput are the important functions and reasons to install the ER8411.

The lack of this function in the OC200 controller is not documented anywhere that I can find.
All the posts and product information I could find on this forum, the TP-Link company documentation, and elswhere are very misleading.
You, or someone, should at least correct/update the forum threads that says they are identical.

We will have to revert to the Softwre Controller and drop the idea of the Cloud Controller through the OC200.

The DPI has not been added into OC200 yet. Just for your reference, for Deep Packet Inspection feature, you may wait for the hardware controller 5.14 or later version update. But please note that the estimated date and whether this feature will be updated cannot be guaranteed, as the actual implementation depends on the firmware update status at that time.

 

For any firmware update, you may try to refer to the release note on the official website. For OC200 V2, please refer Download for OC200 | TP-Link.
