Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

So, I wonder if I can use the router Icotera i4882-72 with Deco x50 ?

icotera would be the main one and Deco will appear as mesh after the router.

Is it possible at all?

I mean unit 1 in Deco mesh appears as a router, but if I already have one, will there be a conflict?

  @Zyber

This is how you can avoid conflicts between Icotera i4882-72 and Deco x50 mesh:

1. Connect first Deco unit, which will become Main Deco, with Ethernet cable to Icotera i4882-72 and configure that Deco unit according to Deco Quick Start/User Guide;

2. After success, configure your new Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode: Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode

3. Power on remaining Deco units. If they are from the same set, they may join your Deco mesh automatically. If not, add them manually: How to add an additional unit to your Deco network

4. Turn off WiFi in Icotera i4882-72. Your Deco mesh will provide WiFi coverage.

Done.

  @Alexandre. you're here again with your great tips! Thx!

One more question: Does the first Deco unit have to be wire-connected to the router all the time or can I disconnect it?

So physical config should be as follows:

1. router wire connected to the ISP

2. 3(three) standalone Deco units

But the first time, Deco unit 1 should be wired to be able to set it as AP, after that, I may disconnect it.

Did I get it right?

Main Deco must always be connected with Ethernet cable to the router.
