I have a network setup with a 4g modem going into wan port of the router. From router network continues with APs.
Soon I will have optical connection in the location. with that I will get a new modem from a new service provider. Will I have to reconfigure the whole setup or can I switch out modem and network input without doing the whole setup from scratch?
You can switch out modem and network input without doing the whole setup from scratch.
If the ISP device can be set in bridge mode (modem only) you can continue to use your old setup as it is.
In case the ISP device is a router it would introduce double NAT in your local network, which still may not be a concern to you.
