Model: Archer A8   Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.1

Hi,

I have two Archers:

  • first one is a C-70 connected to the Internet router via WAN port (192.168.0.x) - LAN is configured as 192.168.1.0/24
  • second one is a C-60 connected to the C-70 via WAN port using 192.168.1.99 (reserved IP in the C-70 DHCP settings) - LAN is configured as 192.168.2.0/24

From a device connected to the C-70 (say 192.168.1.200) I want to reach a device connected to the C-60 (say 192.168.2.200).

On the C-7 I have a static route:

and the relevant entry is correctly visible in the system routing table:

Nevertheless, from 192.168.2.x I can reach 192.168.1.x devices (and access the internet) but not viceversa (I can't access 192.168.2.x devices)

I am out of options - maybe I'm missing something fundamental here but I have to admit I'm a bit lost.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Giovanni

  @Giovanni_1971

Your problem is the double NAT (maybe triple NAT, because of the ISP router) in your local network.

Once the second Archer does a NAT, the devices behind it won't be visible from the first Archer subnet (even if you set a static route).

If you set the second Archer in AP mode then all devices connected to the first and second Archer would be in one subnet (no need of static routes).
