Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.2.0 0.9.1 v005f.0 Build 220919 Rel.64400n

Hey guys, ive had my tplink ac3150 v2 for about 7 or so years, for the last couple years, ive encountered an issue where the wifi signal on all my wifi devices will intermittently stop working for a min or so and then starts working again, and it will keep doing this rotation every 5 mins or so. (its inconsistent so hard to tell how long). The pc connected to the router via ethernet doesnt drop out at all that i can tell... it seems to happen only with wifi devices.

No lights change on router, it just starts and stops when it feels like it. Even my wifi calling is dropping out on my phone intermittently. It even happens when im at my desk, which is where my router is, so distance aint the issue.

Now the funny thing is... after about a couple weeks or this inconsistency the issues goes away (hence why ive lived with it for 2 years), but as soon as i do power reset on the router, or i loose power to the house and back on, the issue starts again.

The even stranger thing is the very last time this has happened which was 1 week ago.. i did not loose power to the router... i was reorganising my desk and unplugged the power for the seperate TP-Link switch i have.. and the problem started again. I didnt interupt the supply of power or internet signal that feeds  the router

Any tests you guys think i can do?
It doesnt matter what firmware i have... it seems to do it on all the 3 latest firmwares
any help greatly apreciated cause i am so puzzled

TIA

Hi, thanks for posting question on our community.

If only your wireless clients got unstable:

    1) Make sure the Router is properly placed, it should be put in open area instead of inside a cabinet or shelf.

    2) Login the web management interface of the Router, go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings, change the wireless channel into another one. If 2.4GHz band is unstable, adjust 2.4GHz channel width into 20MHz. If 2.4GHz band is unstable, adjust 5GHz channel width into 80MHz or 40MHz to avoid interference.

If that does not help, you may need a brand-new router for a stable internet access.

  @Marvin_S thank you

My settings were

2.4ghz

channel: Auto

channel width: Auto

I have changed them now to

channel: Auto

channel width: 20MhZ

Or do you suggest changing the "channel" aswell?

My 5ghz settings were

channel: 157

channel width: auto

I have now changed to

channel: Auto

channel width: 80mhz
