Model: Archer BE550
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi Guys,
I am contemplating buying the
TP-Link BE9300 Ultra-Fast 9214 Mbps 6-Stream Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router,

or is it the Archer BE550 ?
It seems to have 2 names ? Which is the correct name?

The only thing stopping me is the reviews I have read from several sauces,
A couple of the negative point are that it drops the connection to the ONT/ISP every hours or so ?
Hence a re start is needed?
And that the WI-FI is very poor?
I don’t necessarily believe all reviews, as mistakes can be made by individuals.
I thought I would bring the Topic into the forum to kick it around and see
What other people thought to this router?
All positive and Negative views are Welcome.
If I was to buy it,
I have FTTP
I have a 2.5 Gigabit internal Network
I would be hooking it up to Plusnet/ONT Openreach modem delivering me 517Mbps
Possibly moving up to 900 Mbps in the near future.

Thank You for your Views..

@Flourgrader2 I hope it's not too late to reply.

I'm currently using this model with 1000Mbps plan and the router works just fine! I've loved it so far. I got full speed as advertised by the ISP.

In order to fully utilize its full bandwidth, you also need a good client device. Some wifi settings of the router doesn't prevent older clients from connecting, for example the MLO network which is specific for Wifi 7 compatible devices. You'll get poor connection if connecting older phones to this network. There are other aspects of the configurations that could make things worse if enabled. IMHO, TP-Link could do better, or explain better.

EDIT:

I don't get ONU/ONT disconnections. Some sources say it gets worse after 24h. My unit didn't get worse. Maybe I'm not using it hard enough :)

NOTES:

The latest firmware to date 1.0.8 seems to be buggy. Use 1.0.7 and skip 1.0.8.
