Model: TL-SG105E
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Greetings,

My laptop is plugged into the switch, which is plugged into the router. How do I find the IP address? It is not listed the the router device list, which is weird. Also, 192.168.0.1 doesn't work.

I tried using tracert. It shows it hopping on the router, but not the switch.

Does the Easy Smart Switch have a DHCP server built-in? I'm wondering where my laptop is getting its IP address from.

Also, where can I find the firmware version (since I can't log into the switch)?

Thanks,

Shane.

Hi @SGoodman

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

No.

Your laptop is getting the IP from the DHCP server which is your router.

The tracert does not show the next hop of the switch because you directly send it to the router which is your default gateway.

The switch is a layer 2 switch without DHCP server functions.

This information above can be found on the Internet as it is very basic.

For the question, use the arp tool to scan and find the switch IP address. The switch gets an IP from the DHCP server as well, so that arp tool on the router or you use a computer to scan arp can find out the IP address of the switch.
