Hi all,

I'm trying to get my BT TV working through the Archer AX53 router directly connected to my ONT. With IGMP snooping and Proxy enabled the stream comes through and seems okay. However every 10 seconds or so the stream stops and comes back after roughly 2 seconds and continues for another 10 seconds. This makes the stream unwatchable.

Connecting the BT provided router to the ONT and then the Archer router to the BT router with all wireless disabled on the BT router the BT TV stream comes through perfectly with no issues but this gives me a double NAT as there is no way to set the BT provided router in bridge mode.

Just wondering if anyone has a setup working with this router connected straight to the ONT?

Doing some investigation on the BT forums I have found this:

https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/IPTV-settings-on-ER605/td-p/2270301/page/2

It seems to suggest a second connection is needed on the WAN. Is that doable with this router?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

It is a pity that Archer AX53 does not support multi-WAN connection.

You may check your settings referring to P69-P70 in the User Guide.

Thank you for the response. That is a shame. I've checked through pages 69 and 70 of the user manual and I have already checked those settings unfortunately. I have tried every combination I could think of the stream works in V2 and V3 mode but just looses connection with a IPC6023 error which on BT forums appears to a multicast issue. But nothing I can do in the IGMP settings appears to prevent the loss of connection. It's weird that the connection works fine when coming through the BT Router but not direct through the ISP modem even though the BT router is just acting as a bridge. Is there anything else I could try?

Kind regards,

Joseph.

Hi Marvin, thank you for this. Hopefully we can get this router working for anyone else who may have a similar issue!
