TP-Link TL-WR940N Causing Slow WordPress Admin Panel Loading
Hi all,
I’ve been facing an unusual issue with my WordPress site, wptroubles com, when connected to my TP-Link TL-WR940N router. The WordPress admin panel slows down significantly, especially when resolving errors or updating plugins.
I’ve tested the site on other networks, and it performs well, so it seems like the TL-WR940N might be causing the slowdown. I’ve already restarted the router, checked settings, and updated the firmware, but no luck.
Has anyone experienced similar issues or have any solutions for this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for posting question here.
You may change DNS on TL-WR940N following this guide.
And is your router EU version? You may check on its bottom label.
Then I will double-check whether you are using latest firmware or not.

Hi, it sounds like the issue may be tied to how the TP-Link TL-WR940N handles connections, especially when you're working with resource-heavy tasks like resolving errors or updating plugins. Routers can sometimes prioritize traffic differently, which might be affecting your WordPress admin performance.
One solution could be to check the router’s Quality of Service (QoS) settings and ensure that the bandwidth isn’t being limited for important processes on your site. Since your site, wptroubles, is performing well on other networks, it seems like the router is the issue here. Also, consider adjusting the firewall or security settings, as these can sometimes interfere with how WordPress communicates with servers.
