I have been experiencing WiFi disconnection issues for my Chromecast Ultra for some time, so I purchased a second Google TV device.  The new device (ONN 4K) also disconnects.  I'm not noticing any issue with other wireless clients and there is certainly no isse with wired.

 

There are times when I get frequent disconnections and when this happens I have to reboot the router after which it works perfectly (for a while).  I also have a scheduled router reboot nightly but the problem persists.

 

Is there a workaround that would improve the network stability?  The router is fine other than this annoying issue.

Hi,

 

Are these two devices connected to 2.4G or 5G WIFI? Please test if the issue will happen on both.

Also, you can enable a guest network and connect to it.

 

Besides, how far are the two devices from the router? Please check if there are anything like metal devices that may affect the WIFI signal.

  @Sunshine The issue exists for both 5GHz and 2.4.  The devices are about 30 feet from the router with good signal strength but the router is in another room.

 

After experiencing problem several days in a row, but yesterday there was no issue.  I had noticed Easymesh was toggled on for the router but I dont use it (I doubt this fixed the issue).

 

What I have done is resurrected my old wireless AC router and I'm going to set it up as a bridge with a different SSID.  If the problem goes away when connected to the Nighthawk's SSID then I'll know the issue is with the AX55.

 

I can try the guest network as well.
