Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have an ER605 Omada router which I intend to install in place of my TP-Link WiFi router. It will be connected to a Virgin Media Super Hub which will be in modem mode.
What I'm proposing is to keep the ER605 close to the modem, downstairs and to feed our Sony smart TV from one of the router ports.
There will be a CAT5E cable (already in place) from the ER605 to an SG2008P 8 port Omada POE switch, which will be upstairs and will feed a couple of PCs and my K4 transceiver, as well as being connected to the OC205 Omada hardware controller and 3 APs - 2 * EAP225s and an EAP610.

I will put one AP in the front of the premises so that most of the ground floor and outside Ring cameras at the front will be covered. I’ll put another AP at the back of the premises because the glass doors from the bungalow to the conservatory tend to block WiFi signals. The third AP will go in my workshop so that I can run my 3D printers and camera via WiFi and it will also cover the back yard camera.

Questions:

If I connect the front AP to the router directly (just for wiring convenience) will the Omada controller still control its functions?

Can I connect the smart TV directly to the router and still have the Omada controller prevent it from sending any signals over the Internet?

I’d like to setup 3 SSIDs, one main, one for appliances and one for guests. Will the APs handle all that seamlessly under Omada control?

As long as the Omada Controller is connected to the network, it does not affect the functions.

ACL is layer 3 based and you can control its IP. Yes. As long as you don't misconfig the Omada Controller IP from LAN and WAN which you loses control and cloud features.

Not sure what you mean by seamlessly. No issue for the AP to handle the SSIDs.
