Saturday
Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: X50v1_en_1.6.1 Build 20241010 Rel. 65389

Unfortunately, when buying from Amazon, you don't know what hardware version you're getting and therefore in my home network that has 2 plans, I have 3 Deco X50 1.2 (firmware 1.45) and 2 Deco X50 1.0 (firmware 1.61). The 3 with hardware 1.2 have easymesh, while the 2 with hardware 1.0 do not.

This certainly doesn't help us users much.
Reading the specifications of the two firmwares, the one for hardware 1.0 has more options than version 1.2 but does not have easymesh.

Therefore, in my network I could have compatibility problems as depending on where the device is connected, it could have more or less connection and reconnection problems (those without easymesh).
Furthermore, I don't know if it is more convenient to put the one with hardware 1.0 or 1.2 as the main Deco (AP).
Please give me your opinion

Good weekend

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

About the Easymesh, it is sugggested to refer to this thread first.

Deco EasyMesh allows you to link the Deco and other EasyMesh-compatible devices to form a united mesh network. It helps further expand the wireless coverage.

So, if 5 Decos are enough for your wifi coverage, there is no need to add other network devices. Also, currently, only few Deco models support Easymesh feature.

And whether X50 V1 or X50 V1.2 work as main Deco, there should be no difference for your mesh network.

BTW, you may refer to this guide to switch between main Deco and satellite Decos easily if you need.

@Hispanico OK thank mate... but if in my mesh lan the MAIN DECO X50 has 1.2 hardware and function EasyMesh, the n. 2 Deco X50 with hardware 1.0 the function easymesh is applied to all or i wrong ?

However, if I also understood correctly if my network is complete with the 5 Decos, I should not be interested in the EasyMesh, consequently it is better to have a Deco X50 with hardware 1.0 rather than 1.2, as it usually has a more up-to-date firmware.

Also firmware for hardware v.1.0  does not have IOT network function...

Am I right or am I wrong?

Than again
