Thank you for reading this thread.

Let me explain my problem first.
A few years ago my dad set up a mesh network in my parents house. Sadly he passed away some time ago and today my mum has switched to a different ISP and got a new router. We set it up nicely and it works fine.

However, there is one small problem: I just connected the old Deco M4 system to the new router, rebooted both and it went to white (as in it works) without needing the app. So far so good, but the mesh network is now showing up as a different Wi-Fi to the new router (so we have both the new and "old" Wi-Fi showing as available, with the "old" (the mesh network) covering the whole house reasonably well. This is not really an issue at the moment, but it does confuse me.
At the moment there is nothing directly connected to the router other than the Deco M4 and our phone, and I have only connected our mobile phones and a PC to the new Wi-Fi.

I look forward to your advice and have a great day.

Deco mesh runs its own WiFi network, independently from ISP router. When you powered on Deco mesh it started with its "old" configuration settings, which include SSID and password.

Because these two WiFi networks are separate and independent (as if you had two regular WiFi routers in the house), it is recommended to turn off ISP router's WiFi.

If you plan to keep Deco, it would be better if you could gain access to Deco mesh through Deco app, otherwise you'll be running Deco mesh without ability to manage it. In case you don't know what was the email address/password used for Deco app or can't use it any longer, I would recommend to reset Deco mesh units and start anew, as if you just bought them.

The process of resetting Deco mesh units is described here, scroll down to "Reset a Deco unit" section: How Do I Reboot or Reset My System?

You must reset all Deco units, before starting new Deco mesh setup and configuration.

P.S. If you plan to give away or sell Deco mesh hardware to someone else, make sure you reset all Deco units before you do that.
