TP-Link M7650(EU)1.1  with latest firmware 1.1.12 Build 240722 Rel.1036n

ISP Version: 24071201

Used it feb/march 2024 without any problem on the same 4G network (Qcell).Two weeks ago I started using it again. The router did a firmware upgrade when I reconnected.

After that it has been constantly randomly rebooting. It does happen many times every hour. So it is unworkable (connected device 1 up to 3)

I did a factory reset, removed batteries, changed it to different channels, turned power saving off,used it with an without cable etc etc.

Nothing helped. In the end I changed the Network mode to 3G only. Now it works again like it did earlier this year. However not on 4G.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

It is suggested to take the sim card out of M7650 and insert it into a smart phone to check the 4G band following the guide.

You may also refer to this guide to select 4G manually.

  @Marvin_S

Thank you for the suggestion. However like I said before the 4G data SIM card did work without any connection problems (or tinkering) earlier this year. A year before that it also worked fine.

The only thing that changed was the firmware of the router. There is NO problem connecting with the new card. So I do have 4G internet. However it randomly reboots. Meaning the device starts up again and I  have a random disconnect every few/10/20  etc. minutes. A hardware device rebooting is in my world a BUG not a feature. With 3G it works fine.

I do not have a spare phone available and trying manual mode gives no results.

The beta firmware on https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/241534 seems to be a very old version M7650(EU)_V1.1_20220427

SO I hope this can be registered as a BUG (support ticket). It already did costs me several hours of troubleshooting.
