Archer C7 5Ghz Problem - REQUIRES FIXING ASAP

Region : UnitedKingdom

Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 3.13.33 Build 130729 Rel.56122n
ISP : Plusnet UK
Dear TP Link / Forum users,
As reported here numerous times the Archer C7 has issues with the 5Ghz band and Apple devices (Sometimes my Galaxy S3 too). 2.4Ghz appears to operate fine.
I have tried numerous times to connect my iPad / Macbook Pro / Macbook Pro Retina and although I can connect successfully to the WiFi there is an issue with internet connectivity once connected. TKIP seems to work at times but obviously throughput is slower. WPA2-PSK AES does not work.
This requires fixing ASAP as this is a major bug.
P.S. I am currently working around the issue by leaving my 5Ghz band open and using MAC filtering to prevent access.

I've had the exact same issue!

Region : Australia
Model : Archer C7
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 3.13.33 Build 130729 Rel.56122n
ISP : iiNet
I've had the same issue as the O.P for over a month now. It's not just WPA/WPA2 Personal which are broken with AES, it's also the RADIUS functionality with AES. I've been forced to run the router with Open security to get the full 802.11ac bandwidth.
According to the SmallNetBuilder review ( http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-reviews/32196-tp-link-archer-c7-ac1750-wireless-dual-band-gigabit-router-reviewed?showall=&start=4), TP-Link has known about the issues with Broadcom clients since August and they have a fix ready. No idea why it hasn't been released.
Really need a fixed firmware guys!

Same problem
2013-10-23 16:35:02
HI, I got the same problem using new Firmware for my Intel AGN 6300 (Lenovon Thinkpad T520). Solution for my was changing encryption from WPA PSK 2 to WPA PSK. The iPad 2 has still problems using 5GHZ. The Laptop only at places with bad signal. In Conrol Center the connection is still active, but the transver rate is 6Mbit`s. German support said that collegues from HQ are working at the solution.
Kind regards
Chris

I haven't tried disabling WMM because it is required for 802.11n/ac functionality. I don't think anyone who bought an Archer C7 is interested in using it as a 802.11g router.
Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Im just wondering if the threads here are even read by TPlink staff? This issue seems to be a problem for many people, since so many has taken their time to actually register an account on the forum and talk about the issue. But the threads have no replyes by the staff and no firmware is released.
Do we consumers really have to start talking bad about this products/TPlink on public forums, webbpages, buyersguides etc before action is taken by TP link? I bought a 5ghz router, i want to use it!
How hard is it for TP link to post a 10sec reply: We hear you, and we are looking into it???

Same trouble too

I bought this router a few days ago thinking it was one of the best. But now I find the same trouble (in 5 GHz band). And TP-LINK remain silent!

Unfortunately, it's not a best of !
Further more, TP-Link is not able to give quickly new good fixes.
I suggest you to get a refund or an other router (Asus for example)...

maybe it's caused by iPad doesn't support 802.11ac, how about setting Archer C7 to work on 802.11n.
