Dear TP Link / Forum users,
As reported here numerous times the Archer C7 has issues with the 5Ghz band and Apple devices (Sometimes my Galaxy S3 too). 2.4Ghz appears to operate fine.
I have tried numerous times to connect my iPad / Macbook Pro / Macbook Pro Retina and although I can connect successfully to the WiFi there is an issue with internet connectivity once connected. TKIP seems to work at times but obviously throughput is slower. WPA2-PSK AES does not work.
This requires fixing ASAP as this is a major bug.
P.S. I am currently working around the issue by leaving my 5Ghz band open and using MAC filtering to prevent access.

I've loaded the 140307 beta firmware on my Archer C7 v1, I'm actually having more 5GHz connectivity issues than I had under 140127 (using EW-7822UAC as the client), also, while on a voip call and web surfing I'm hearing distinct interruptions in the voice traffic that I had not encountered in any of the earlier firmware versions.

I had 140307 running ok with my MacBook Air for a few days (transmit rates always > 780Mbps) but today, the transmit rate on ac is again only 7Mbps. Can't make heads or tails of it. And none of the workarounds seem to work either :-(

140307 seems to be causing a lot of disconnects with my Samsung Galaxy, the previous firmware was much more stable.

I'm also having more issues with 140307 compared to 140127 after two weeks of testing.
Even on 2.4GHz pages stop loading and I need to wait a while or reconnect in order to fix the problem. I did not experience this with the previous beta. My connection is stable at high transmit rates, but no data is being transmitted.

Returning my routers

I bought two Archer C7 routers for our office yesterday on recommendation from the Challenger store clerk.
Today, 2 of our users have hit on this problem, I see that still no firmware update is available more than 6 months down the road.
(Beta release does not count, I'm not a product tester, I'm a user, I want a working product, end of story).
This is a very clear indication of the seriousness of TP-LINK's commitment to quality.
I will be returning both routers tomorrow and never buying TP-LINK again, I'm not interested in wasting time on such rubbish.
