Model: ER8411
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20240308 Rel.75819

While I was living in Gatineau, Quebec (5 years) I was able to use my ER8411 flawlessly when connected to Bell's Giga Hub using PPPOE via the 10GbE port. I've since moved back to Ontario and am having fairly frequent issues where the internet will slow down to the point where connections time out (including SpeedTest). No LED indicators on the modem at all, and pings to 1.1.1.1 fail. Simply reconnecting the WAN cable between the TP-Link and the modem corrects the issue - I would like to know what's causing the issue in the first place. I see no errors in the TP-Link log, and of course Bell doesn't see anything on their end either, but this has been happening more and more frequently lately. I've searched Google for answers and one link pointed my to a firmware version for the Modem, but the modem currectly exceeds that firmware version - so I should be fine there... Then the ER8411 is fully up-to-date. When I go straight through the modem without the TP-Link, all is well...but the modem is far more restricted to what I can do (no dynamic dns). I'd love to keep using the TP-Link, but if this keeps up I won't be able to.

I've just updated the firmware on the ER8411 to 1.2.2...we'll see how that goes - though I didn't see anything relevant in the patch notes.

Hi @kazz3r24

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

If it was working fine previously, but you moved and it does not work well with the new modem, it should be your new modem.

The hardware is not as easily affected as the router. Vibration does not affect the performance of the router.

Start with the most basic troubleshooting.
