WDR4300: Too complicated to setup
Region : Argentina
Model : TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.33 Build 130617 Rel.46239n
ISP :
Hi,
I have my internet service through fiber (Huawei modem). I bought WA801ND 6 months back and was able to get it up and running in less than 10 min.
Two weeks ago I bought WDR4300 hoping I will will get a much better service. BIG MISTAKE. I just don't know how to make it work as an AP rather than a router.
So, here is the simple setup I have on the 801:
the WA801ND has its DHCP disabled (Huawei router is used)
Now, I have no idea how to make WDR4300 work the same way!
For example, why do I have to use WAN & LAN IPs (which one is more important to make it work in AP mode).
Router won't accept same IP subnet for both WAN & LAN! This means I have to use a different subnet which means the isolation of all devices on other APs (like WA801ND).
Trying to enable the DHCP on WDR4300 to make it give the same IP range as the Huawie router and WA801ND won't work.
I'm giving up on WDR4300. Any idea how to get it work and play nicely with the rest of my setup.
Cheers.
Abdul
