I don't know if it's just me but I can't seem to disable WPS on the 5ghz band. It is disabled on the 2.4ghz fine.

In both wifi analyzer and Insiider it shows [WPA2-PSK-CCMP][WPS][ESS] on the 5ghz band despite it disabled in the my router settings.

On my laptop it asks to enter the WPS pin when trying to connect to the 5ghz band.

The 2.4 band shows [WPA2-PSK-CCMP][ESS] and WPS is correctly disabled.

I've tried different firmwares and they all have the same issue. Connectivity wise the 5ghz gives me no problems. The only 5ghz devices I have are the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 which both work fine when connected.

Can anyone else confirm they see the same behaviour on their router?

I can confirm I have the same issue on my Archer C7, that's how I found your post after google-ing ;)

Tried serveral things but WPS stays enabled on 5GHz band whatever I do. 2.4 GHz band seems to be disabled.

Is this a bug in the firmware? And can it be fixed?

It must be a problem with the firmware, the router PIN still works if it's enabled even if WPS itself is disabled.

Even though settings WPS is disabled for 5GHz it is still being broadcast.

same issue here, though WPS is disabled in 5GHz setting it is still being announced to clients.

Hello support? How difficult can it be to fix the gui settings propagation into the driver? It's been half a year since official firmware update and the users seem raging with bugfixes requests...

yes, true that. From what I've spoken directly with TP-Link dev in China the bug was a minor concerning the 5GHz at all f*ck up. I will contact him and ask whether our WPS bug will move now from backlog to in progress ;)

I have excatly same issue with Archer C7 v2. (FW: 3.13.34 Build 131217)

Since this is a security issue (?!), I'll hope that this bug would be solved ASAP. :(

p.s. Is there any other ways than disabling whole 5GHz to make my network secure once again?
