TL-WA901ND configuration problems, need help.

Firmware Version : 130131 & 120224 & 100723

I'm trying to setup the device as an Access Point (using WPA or WPA2 encryption) with WDS/Bridge enabled and connect it to my router.
Firmware 120224 & 130131 allow me to connect and I can ping the router from the WA901ND device, however when I try to connect to the WA901ND from my iPad I get a username/password (enterprise) authentication.
Now if I flash with firmware 100723 I do not have the WPA (username/password) problem but the WA-901ND does not get a ping reply from the router (with the same configuration as before).
What do I do ? I'm ready to smash the damn thing ... Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
p.s.
when in Access Mode I am using the exact same password and properly set to WPA2/AES as the router is configured.
