Recently I have been having issues with my WR841N. It has worked great since the summer, now it acts almost as a barrier between me and my modem. If I'm connected directly to my modem via ethernet, I get my regular speed, but if I connect to the router I can not load anything besides some text pages. Any device connected to the router via ethernet or wireless has this issue. I've looked around but haven't found a solution.

Please help!

Do you have latest firmware on your router? I understand that you're talking about issue with internet connection speed is that true?

The issue is that the router is acting like a wall between me and my modem. If I am connected to the router which is connected to the modem, it registers as connected, but the connection can not load anything. If I connect directly to the modem everything works fine.

I tried to update the firmware, but the download from the TP-Link site looked like some sort of video game emulator, is it supposed to look like that?
