Archer C7 Error 18001 during firmware upgrade

ISP : Unitymedia

I tried to upgrade the firmware of my Archer C7 to the Archer C7_V2_131217 from this Page: http://www.tp-link.com.de/support/download/?model=Archer+C7&version=V2#tbl_j
I get this message every time: Error code: 18001
Upgrade unsuccessfully because the length of the upgraded file is incorrect. Please check the file name.
I think, there is something wrong with the downloaded file.
An "upgrade" to v1 is possible.
Is there an other possibility to get the Firmware File?

you cannot upgrade C7-v1 with V2 firmware.
V1 firmware will release in feature.

Any clue when this problem will be addressed? Just got my router in and am replacing an old Netgear that just isn't holding up anymore. Being the geek I am, I'm anal about having old firmware versions on hardware when I know there are newer ones out there (or should be by now). Are there any available beta drivers at least? Seems ridiculous v 1.0 can't upgrade to a v 2.0 like most companies have followed as a standard for years ( or the given of some updates to the 1.0 line before 2.0 even showed up).
