WR740N installation problem

Hello! A friend gave me a WR740N router and I can't install it. I try to install it using the given CD and it says network status check failed because there is no network cable plugged in..but obviously it is plugged in. I searched the forum but I didn't find any good answer. So..is there a solution to this thing?

If you have WR740N you can make router configuration by the internet browser

I can see that you don't have connection between router and computer, IP address is empty. Ethernet card is disconnected.

Well.. I don't know what to say. If I plug my Ethernet cable into the PC it works perfectly fine. Maybe the router has a hardware problem or something ?

If I plug my Ethernet cable into the PC it works perfectly fine.
It's is impossible, unless the last screen isn't from your computer!?
