Hi, Tplink!

Hi it's me again, I once installed beta firmware 1.7.0 to my m4r v2 and it didn't work. It said that the firmware was incorrect, I tried installing it both from webUI and firmware recovery mode. Both failed. But I see from this forum there are some who have the same hardware as me M4R V2, they managed to install beta firmware 1.7.0 why can't mine?

 

Note i have 4 deco, E4 v1 3 pcs, M4 v2 (1.6.5 firmware) 1 pcs. Since the E4 had the new 1.7.0 update and can do connection preference, thats why i want my m4 can do the same.. 

I'm a disappointed M4v2 user (only one in the world) that can not update to 1.7.0 firmware, coz by the ISP hardware unit Hopefully TPLINK team not forgeting me n can make special firmware for my unit.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

You may follow method2 in the guide to try again.

And did you get beta firmware from the thread? Did you set M4 as main Deco or satellite?

Please share the screenshots of the error message if the same problem remains.

Yes, i think i download the correct file from here https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/651248

but i can not install it....via webui or via Uboot web-based interface both failed...

 

Do you have the correct file? maybe i can try if you succeed.....

  @ryg First you have to extract the ZIP file and then install the (.bin) file

i just try install it again....first its upgrading until 40% and then failed...

 

mine is version 2 wich version are your M4?

  @Marvin_S look the pic i send...i set my m4 v2 as the satelite for now....and yes i download it from the thread

i tried install it via method 2 from "How to use firmware recovery if the Deco become brick" result still failed the same....
