Hardware Version : V1

ok here it goes.... recently bought a TL-WDN4800 for my desktop, still it crawls, cant stream anything...

thats a file from the NAS connected via 1000mbps to the router (router is i-240W-A alcatel lucent)

current driver

and current strenght signal

now supposedly this is a "N" router - max speed 144mbps still i cant get it to copy anything faster than 1 MB/s anyways, i tried it with another router a linksys wrt54g (g speeds at most) still crawls doesnt get over 1MB/s, playing battlefield 4 is out of the question... laggsssssssssssssssss badly, when connected directly works great, so my isp/internet is ok....

any help out there ??

i tried with 263 (the one before 288) ... i haven´t tried with the one supplied in the cd because i dont have an optical drive, i connected the pc with a tl-7200 and works .. only just works (max transfer that i got with that one is 3.5MBps (i have N wireless router).... will report later if it works with an older driver...

edit: as noted the 288 release is meant for windows 8/8.1 it doesnt say its for win 7

will try with an earlier release 276 that says win 7 (64bit)

I'm having this similar problems
2014-08-11 08:07:49
I pay for 40Mbps (Download) connection from my ISP, and every other computer in my network can achieve those speeds from anywhere in the house. However, when using this card in my desktop, I can rarely get above 20Mbps, and I usually get stuck between .5Mbps and 4Mbps (these are all download speeds because I am too lazy to add both, but usually my upload speeds change proportionally with my download speeds). The card's range also seems to be decreased compared to that of my laptop.
I have tried updating the driver, reinstalling the driver, and even moving the card to different PCIe slots, but nothing seems to help.

Sorry about the late reply.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit with the version 1.3.1 of the TP-Link drivers.
If I weren't going to be moving into a place with easily accessible ethernet ports, I would probably just buy a card from a different manufacturer.

Wireless adaptors are very sensible to antennas positions or malfunctions...

I placed mine right next to (within 20cm of) my router and still got the same speeds. My laptop gets a much better connection than my desktop (the one with this card installed) from the same position in my house, and it doesn't even have physical antennae.
