The box that says "Forbid Ping Packet From LAN Port" is not checked but the router will not respond to IMCP pings. Any advice?

You cannot ping(ICMP) 192.168.0.1 in local network but you can access internet? You should describe in details.

From the internet. I use a monitoring service (
http://www.fruk.net/index.php?fruk=f8lure ) to check for down time and congestion on my internet connection. This sends ICMP packets, but the router seems to be ignoring them and not responding. Everything else is working fine, i use no-ip so that I can stream music from my pc to phone and also use my pc as a vpn. This all works.
Is there a setting that I am missing? I'm new to tp-link hardware.

Any advice on this please - I have exactly the same issue.....!

I've just bought an Archer C20i and like the OP want to use a broadband quality monitor (from Thinkbroadband.com) which requires the router to respond to ICMP pings from their server.
I've left the "Forbid Ping Packet From LAN Port" box unchecked but that doesn't solve it and the router doesn't seem to respond.
I assume I'll have to set up some kind of rule in the access Access Control section, but I honestly have no idea where to start..... anyone have any ideas / suggestions?
It seems in other makes of router this is simply a matter of telling the router to "respond to ICMP pings from the WAN", but it appears a less simple task for a TP-Link router and information is lacking....... In fact, after searching for the last hour or so, this is the first thread I've found where someone has the same issue.
Any / all help gratefully received! Thanks!

Neither C2 nor C20i can ping from WAN...
They are designed to work in this way and they won't respond to ICMP pings...
