Hi, I bought this router to replace my ailing sky router.

I have to set it up to work with Sky and in the configuration set up I need the sky PPPoA login and password. Sky tell me they cannopt give out this information? Has anyone else managed to find it on line or can you tell me how it's done?
i do know it is @skydsl.com
But i need the username Sky tell me they won't give out the code?

Hi Peter, you have no Sky modem?
Model : TL-WR840N Are you sure? It is not a modem router but just a router which need to work with a modem.

Hi Ada, Thanks fr your reply. Firstly you are absolutely right, I pasted the wrong model number. I actually have a TP-Link TD-W8970.

I eventually managed to get to go on-line with sky as i was getting nowhere. It appears that Sky do not offer third party support to broadband customers unless they subscribe to their Unlimited Broadband PRO

This involves paying them up to £12.50 a month to get third party support for routers.I had broadband unlimited so my extra charge was £5.00 per month. (Think what you like about sky's service) As soon as I paid this fee I was transferred to tech who confirmed i had subscribed to the PRO service and gave me the access code and address to point to as well as the password.

I may be infringing their licence agreement.Lets just say, the address is very like install@o2broadband.co.uk and the password is password.

Whether or not this works without paying sky a fiver a month I cant say as I have paid mine just to get on. I do think it is a swizz though.
