Archer C7 tplinklogin page not found or not allowed and reset button does nothing

I was trying to setup a USB drive as a FTP server. I selected to reboot the router. I waited for the time to expire on the screen after which I refreshed the window. It would no longer show the login page or main screen of the router. I tried re powering it with nothing connected and same thing. I tried the reset button and it has no affect, like the system is not even acknowledging it. Held it down for the time needed and even longer.
I was forced to fall back on my old router and this new C7 is sitting on my desk. Any way to hard reset this thing besides the reset button? If not I have to return it.
