Region : Ukraine
Model : TL-WR740N
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version : 3.13.2 Build 140814 Rel.39331n
ISP : Volia
Greetings!
I have a problem with TL-WR740N. Generally, it works OK. But, if Lenovo IdeaPad Z710 notebook connects to wireless network of the router, the router fails to work after some time. I.e. approximately 5 min everything works OK, but after that any device can't connect to the wireless network of the router (wired access work OK).
This failure is caused namely by Lenovo notebook (IdeaPad Z710, OpenSUSE 13.2 64 bit), Acer notebook (TravelMate 5720, OpenSUSE 12.3 64 bit) and smartphones connect to the router without any problems.
Please, help.
Best regards,
Oleksii

Thanks for reply! Hardware version is "WR740N v4 00000000". At lest, this hardware version is displayed in 192.168.0.1.
I didn't try to update the wireless driver on my laptop. My driver version corresponds to 3.16 Linux kernel version. There's only one newer release, it's 3.17. Do you think I should try to use newer one?
Yeah, update the newer driver.

Thanks for reply and sorry for delay!
Yes, I have WPA/WPA2-Personal wireless network with AES enctrypting. I tired to change encryption method from AES to Auto, but that didn't help.
The WAN IP address is 77.122.206.51, the laptop address is 192.168.0.102.

I tried to share internet from my smartphone. The laptop didn't make smartphone's wireless nework fail, so I suppose that this is a router's problem.

The solution was rather unexpectable. I've removed "iwlwifi-7260-9.ucode" from /lib/firmware. Kernel now uses "iwlwifi-7260-8.ucode" and everything works OK.

Hello Oleksii,
I am having exactly the same problem with the same router (TL-WR740N), except the laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows.
Do you think there might be another solution to this issue, besides rolling back to an earlier version of the WiFi driver? To me, it's pretty obvious that the router is the culprit.
Best regards,
Dmytro

Did you try to update driver for the built-in wireless card of your lattop?

I solved this issue by updating to the latest official firmware of the router.
