Hi
I've found that I can't use a Chromecast device with the WA901ND router. I swapped it for an old Linksys router and that works fine. It seems that this is related to the TP-link router not supporting Multicast/IGMP/UPNP.
Anyone know how to get around that?

>> Yep - tried changing pretty much everything - authentication, channel, SID. The chromecast can connect to the network, but the chromecast apps (iPhone & PC) don't see it. I should add that I'm using Powerline between the main router and the access point (TP-Link PA511kit).

What is the firmware version indeed? WA901ND has serveral operation modes like access point, repeater, client etc.. Which one are you using?

Here are the details - it is the latest firmware:
Firmware Version:
3.16.9 Build 141030 Rel.47420n
Hardware Version:
WA901ND v3 00000000
It's in AP mode.
I tried that solution before but got some failures on the update. I will try again.

I'm getting a mix of success and failure notices when updating the firmware and it doesn't appear to have actually updated (see image)

When I attempt to update the firmware with the powerline devices over an ethernet cable, I get failed update messages.

Correction - I was using the wrong package - now successfully updated although the version number hasn't changed. I will update tomorrow when I've been able to run some more tests.

I'm afraid this is still not working. I don't think it's the powerlines as other routers (Linksys, etc) work. I'd be very grateful for any more advice.

I've found a solution - install OpenWRT. That comes with it's own problems, so I'd be grateful if you could resolve this in the official firmware.
