Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.14.8
ISP : post office / Bt
Hi
I bought the T P Link TL-WA85ORE , this is my last resort before returning it !
It connects to my router , it gives a strong signal , I can connect to it with my Android tablet , but no internet ?
Ive scanned this forum and there seems to be alot of answers , but im a little unsure which one is correct and also how to implement them ?
My WA85ORE states its
Version 1.24 on the box
And from the status info
Ver 3.14.8
Build 140310
Rel 54716n
I gather this is the latest firmware ?
Ive read to change the extender to a static ip and to turn off dynamic , but what ip do I give the extender ?
My router is a Zyxel AMG1302-T10A its ip is 192.168.1.1
Any help would be really great , many thanks ;-)

Your firmware is not the latest version. Download the one, TL-WA850RE(UK)_V1_140826.
http://uk.tp-link.com/support/download/?model=TL-WA850RE&version=V1#tbl_j
After upgrade, reset and reconfigure it to see what happens. Good luck. :)

So I suppose I will have to return it ,as there doesnt seem to be a method to get the blighter to work ! , can anyone recommend one that actually works ?
Many thanks ;-)

What kinds of router? BT Home HUB 4?
Can you confirm if there is limitation like MAC filter rules on it?
WA850RE is quite easy to configure...
Currently RE light and signal lights on RE are normal but no internet?
On status page, there is a picture, right? Can you make a screenshot?
Besides, can you copy the system log and paste it here?

Hey
Disable the DHCP server of TL-WA850RE, and restart all the devices. Then check the IP information of your tablet, make sure the Gateway and DNS are all pointed to your main router. If not, you could have a try to set static information to your tablet like this:
IP address :192.168.1.123
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1
hope my suggestion could be of you some help!!!

Hi
Just to check the ip information of your tablet, if the ip information is not correct, then you will surly not get the Internet access.
The DHCP server is used to configure ip information. In your network, it is the router that out to configure the ip conformation. So you should turn off the DHCP server of the extender and make sure the DHCP server of your router is enabled. To confirm the ip information of your tablet, you could connect your tablet to the router directly and record the ip information, then add the extender, and check the tablet's ip again, if the ip is not correct, you could have a try to set static ip information for the tablet.
What's more, since 850 is only a wireless repeater, and there is not much settings to change on it. So, you could do some changes in the wireless settings of your router, the channel, the bandwidth, and the wireless security rules (PSK/PSK, WEP). And then, re-configure the extender to adjust the new settings.
cheers
