TL-WN823N is not detected by configuration software

TL-WN823N is detected as WLAN USB when viewed in devices, I connected my computer directly to the modem and downloaded the software from the TP-Link site (CD ROM reader was jammed), The configuration software(utility) is installed but it does not detect my usb as a wireless adapter and keeps asking to connect wireless adapter. when I troubleshoot the WLAN USB in devices, it says the driver is missing. HELP.
