Port Forwarding for PS4 Not Working
Region : Canada
Model : TL-WR543G
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP : Wavedirect
I would like to note I actually have a TL-WR641G. I couldn't find my model number in any of the forum categories so I chose the closest one.
I'm trying to set up port forwarding for my playstation 4. I am able to download games and updates without any problems but I have issues connecting to other players. Playstation suggests to set up port forwarding on several specified ports on the router so I attempted that and I still have issues. I'd like to know if I've done this correctly. I logged into the router and went to DHCP > Address Reservation and put the MAC address of my PS4 and an IP address to give my playstation a static IP. Next I went to Forwarding > Virtual Servers and entered all the recommended ports from Sony along with the Playstation's static IP along with the settings Protocol ALL and Status ENABLED. After rebooting the router and playstation it still indicated I had a strict connection. I know it's a security risk but I wanted to try using DMZ just to see if I'd end up with the same result. I put the static IP I gave to the playstation into Forwarding > DMZ and the PlayStation still indicated that my connection was strict and would have issues. I've also tried disabling the router's firewall with no results. I'm trying to pinpoint if it's an issue with my router or if it's my ISP blocking stuff. I've contacted my ISP and I'm awaiting a reply.
