Model: Archer AX53
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a TP-Link AX23 model router.
I bought a new AX53 model router.
But I am not getting good performance from AX53.
The 5 GHz connection on the AX53 router is slow. Sometimes the 5 GHz signal is not shown at all. 2.4 GHz is fine.
I have seen two routers in one place, the AX23 gets a signal up to half the range of the AX53.
Where I saw the details of the 2 routers on the website that the AX23 router has a range of 1500 square feet. And the AX53 router has a range of 2500 square feet.
So as far as I know, the AX53 should be able to get a range/signal over twice the area of the AX23. But it is not getting it.
The problem that seems to me is-
1. I am getting less range.
2. Problem with 5 GHz connection on router.
What should I do now?

Hi,

Not sure if your router settings allow,

But on my WEB GUI wifi settings  I can change the wifi power

(Low/med/high transmission) , if its set to low then that will have a impact on how far your wifi signal will be sent,

If you can get your router higher up off the floor that should help improve your signal range,

Also try and not habe it up against any solid walls or in any units.

I have a trio of AX72 routers, 1 main and 2x in AP mode,

I can vouch for the range even when the transmission power is turned down,

My top floor ax72 is at the front of my house but even im able to pick my wifi 200ft down my road on 5ghz fighting through a solid brick wall and atleast 15+ other wifi signals
