RE200 cannot change SSID

Unsure if hardware version is accurate. I have been running two SSID names for 2.4 and 5 GHz networks called MYSSID and MYSSID5.
I want to change them to one - MYSSID. It looks like this is easy, I edit the name MYSSID5 to MYSSID on the Extended Network section and save. But the name does not save or at least not for long, it reverts to the original name.
Factory reset through the app or by using the pin method - same result.
I have two identical devices - same with both.
Both connect to a new TL-WA3001 - this is configured with one SSiD - MYSSID.
Any idea how to fix this?

Looks fixed - after disabling 5 GHz on the device I went through setup on TP-Link WA3001 access point. I did not make any changes and after saving I enabled 5 GHz on the RE200 and all is well.

When configuring RE200 (use this guide) select the "Copy from Main Router/AP" option to have the same SSID on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

Thanks, tried this a few times on PC web interface and Tether IOS/Android apps.
Result is always the same as I have described above. I can set up apparently perfectly then the 5Ghz SSID gets changed. I change it back but the change does not stick.

Been at this all afternoon. Numerous pin resets, tried setup with web interface, Tether IOS and Android, and PC connected via LAN cable.
Same result - it always changes the SSID of the 5 GHz band by adding a 5 to the end. Therefore extending the 5 GHz band is impossible as the SSID the device creates is a non existent network.
Same with two devices.
In the meantime I am not extending 5 GHz band.
Could this be a firmware problem? Anyone else experienced this?
