Hi,

Our company is a multi-branch ICT support business that has customers stretching a large region of the country, supported by regional branches.

Currently, we have to give support staff full site access on the Omada controller, even to sites that aren't in their regional area. If we assign sites to support staff, this means that we have to manually manage this with growth, and if a support staff member creates a new site, then only they will be able to see that site, and not their colleagues in the same branch.

A solution to this problem would be to allow site assignment to a user based off Site Tags.

For Example:

Site Tag #Branch A - Has access to all sites tagged as #Branch A, including new sites created post user assignment.

Site Tag #Branch B - Has access to all sites tagged as #Branch B, including new sites created post user assignment.

Site Tag #Branch C - Has access to all sites tagged as #Branch C, including new sites created post user assignment.

Would be great to see a feature like this implemented.

Hi @Vincent-TP

After reviewing the MSP mode, we have decided we can make it work by creating Customer accounts as Branches and assign support staff access to those customer accounts. All sites relevant to that branch will go in that account, allowing easy management for the support staff.

Example:

  • Customer A <Branch A>
    • Site A
    • Site B
    • Site C
  • Customer B <Branch B>
    • Site A
    • Site B
    • Site C

User A is granted access to Customer A, User B is granted access to Customer B.

I still think assigning sites to user's of the controller with a site tag is a feature that should be considered though. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi  @Alan_Saunders

You may consider enable MSP mode and create multiple MSP administrators:

For more details, you may refer to the following FAQ:

How to configure the MSP Mode on the Omada Controller

If you are seeking to the guide with the latest interface, you may refer to the user guide, starting from page 456.

Hi  @Alan_Saunders

Thanks for the info. This is also what we want to suggest.

Regarding to your request, we certainly appreciate all your feedback and feature requests here.

While we don't have any specific details that I can share around if the tag feature can come to all the controllers, or when it might, I'll make sure to log this feature request and pass it along to the team.
Feel free to let us know of any other feature requests you may have, we’d be happy to send them up for you.
