my router has a SSH server running but when i want to ssh on to my router it says "shell request failed on channel 0" and "PTY allocation request failed on channel 0" the password is same as the password i use on my admin interface (i just tried it) I use the original firmware. i want to be able to ssh in my router without flashing OpenWRT

TP-Link home routers don't offer an SSH access. The TCP port 22 is open exclusively for the Tether app management - details.

If you get the Tether app you can manage the router with this app, but nothing more, i.e. you won't get an SSH console access.
