Model : TL-WDR3600

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 3.14.3 Build 150518 Rel.72050n

ISP : Kabel

Hello,
since a few weeks I'm getting disconnects exactly every 45 minutes and I can find this in the router "NOTICE" log after it happens:

"Dynamic IP(DHCP Client) obtained an IP successfully"

So it seems to me like my router (TP Link WDR3600) requests a new IP every 45 minutes for some reason.

My ISP is Kabel Deutschland (Cable provider) and I'm using a cable modem in between the Internet and the router.

Can you guys help me, right now I don't even know if it is a router or modem problem, at first I supsected the modem and got a different one, however the problem still occured.

I would be glad if someone could help me :)

Hi,

Your modem has probably a lease time set to 45min.

You should use a Static IP instead...

Did you added in Address Reservation a specific IP for your MAC Address? Most likely the lease time is set to 45 minutes and is releasing the IP and tries to get another one.

There is no option to modify the lease time in the modem settings...

Did you connect the modem directly to your PC and keep testing it for more than 45 minutes to see what happens?

Yes and other routers are working just fine.

On DHCP---DHCP Settings page, Lease Time is 120 minutes? Try to change it.
Can you use static IP as HiSpeed suggested?

There will definitely not be setting for this for the WAN card on the router. When you have a computer connected directly to the modem did you look at the lease time?- run 'ipconfig /all' (or ifconfig depending on your OS) to see if the DHCP lease time is 45min, which would be really short. It may be best to try to reset of the router
