Hi there,

Archer C7 V2, ac1750, Firmware. 3.14.3.
My SSID is unique, and am using WPA2+AES over both bands

My 5ghz WiFi oscillates with high ping every approx. 11 seconds. I'm testing from about 3-5 meter distance without any obstacles between. The signal strength is -34 dBm (fantastic).
Wired Ethernet is spotless so ISP isn't the issue! Tried Channelyzer, OpenSSID and Wifi Analyzer (for windows 10 desktop) and saw that the 5Ghz band is completely free... No cordless phones in the house or baby monitors. Tried powering down the wireless headsets with no difference.
I need and expect my WiFi to work as thats the reason i bought the new router!

The high ping is synchronous with significant drops in internet speed, both download and upload.
Please help me solve this problem! What is happening at that regular interval? SSID broadcast? Beacon interval? What??

Hereunder is a Ping test using the diagnostic tool from the Archer Admin. I've used it to ping my own laptop.

Ping statistics for 192.168.0.102
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 50, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 1, Maximum = 114, Average = 15
A similar result from pinging another laptop on the 2.5ghz Wifi network reveals the following result every similar 11 seconds. Again that Windows 8.1 laptop is just 3-5 meters away.
Ping statistics for 192.168.0.108
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 50, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:

Hoping that you can help solve my problem.

SOLVED! disabled short GI
2015-09-07 04:33:34
Hi Everyone!
I solved this problem through some tinkering with both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band advanced settings.
By disabling 'Short GI' under the 'Wireless Advanced' options for both bands, the elevated ping times dropped from the near 100ms range to just 20ms! This completely solved all my internet problems and gave stable speeds across all connections! Finally all streaming and VOIP connections are working unhinged and undisturbed!
I hope this helps someone who may be experiencing the same problems.
Best regards, Visti
