Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.2

I just purchased a EAP211 bridge kit because I thought it was perfect for what I needed. I have an EAP225-Outdoor AP with a omnidirectional antenna to provide wifi for the cameras around the property.
The cameras were using cheap 5Ghzs Wifi Bridge Kits that were instead connected directly to the EAP225. The cheap APs died and I thought I'd replace them with the EAP211s but they don't connect to non-bridge APs.

I'm not sure who to reach out to but PLEASE allow the users to connect to other APs with the mesh network or some other way, the EAP211 is perfect for what I need physically but needs to be able to do more on the software side. I have an Omada system and thought it would make it easier for me to see the status of the wifi connection around the property. I don't not want to return the system, even old Ubiquity bridge systems allow for splitting up and using the APs independently.

Thank you!

  @metalskull

The EAPs are sold as a set. Are you also trying to wirelessly connect the first AP to other APs?

Please provide your ideal network topology so we can understand your request better.

  @metalskull

Thanks for the clarification.

For your \ case, our current product indeed cannot meet the requirements. Waiting for the EAP211 to implement this bridging functionality may take considerable time.

Here is a suggestion:

Add a CPE before each EAP:

The CPE should be configured in client mode.

How to Configure the Client Mode on the Pharos Device

If the cameras are wired, EAP211 is not needed; you can plug them directly into the CPE units.

  @Vincent-TP

thank you for the suggestion, I was hoping to keep the management of the network within the Omada environment. I know CPEs are using their own ecosystem and are not compatible with Omada, hence i thought I'd ask. Is it possible to ask the dev team to see how difficult it would be to implement please? I imagine if other APs are able to seamlessly mesh between themselves, it shouldn't be too much work to enable the  EAP211 to do the same. Thank you for the consideration and helpful advice!

Hi  @metalskull

Based on current assessment, the likelihood of adding this feature is relatively low. The EAP211-bridge KIT has limited outdoor deployment capabilities compared to CPE devices.

Even if it supports wireless bridging with other APs, maintaining stable performance in your specific scenario would be challenging.

For smaller coverage areas, I would recommend setting up an EAP outdoor mesh network.

However, a 1km range is beyond the effective distance for EAP225-outdoor units. This is precisely why I suggested using CPE devices with directional antennas for outdoor applications.
